Alleyway |
This song has probably gone through the most change. Lyrically. Musically. Emotionally.
As this production of this song progressed I realized the meaning more and more.
That an "alleyway" is a path. Everyone has to choose someway to go in life. Whether its making the decision to literally turn one way or another, too tying your shoe first before applying deodorant.
I yell in this song. It's me telling myself through sound that it's straining to always have to choose. Having others (my band) back me up, is also used to represent the need of community, and people i can find empathy with.
This song is one of our favorites. See it live. Yep.....see it live.
lyrics
Verse.
I told myself that I would Leave
That this home is not a home for me This exit sign is where i stay
can you lead me through this alley way
Chorus.
If you’d care to take this hand, my darling you’ll understand. This cold wind won’t tear us yet. We still got this time to spend. So trust me with eyes so blind, and someday you will find,
Just take some time for me, just you and I
Verse 2.
We can make this easy, we can make this good. Let’s go down this road, we should, we should. Cause I believe in us so well.
Our resting place, this time will tell.
Pre-Chorus
Because all this time that we’ve been spending on, Running through this alleyway,
We’ve torn down walls, we’ve thinned out fogs, We’ve ran through the dark.
Just to see what it’s like on the other side.
Chorus.
If you’d care to take this hand, my darling you’ll understand. This cold wind won’t tear us yet. We still got this time to spend. So trust me with eyes so blind, and someday you will find,
Just take some time for me, just you and I
Bridge.
Bet you didn’t know i could scream as loud as i could for you i will
Bet you didn’t know i could scream as loud as i can for you i will
Chorus.
If you’d care to take this hand, my darling you’ll understand. This cold wind won’t tear us yet. We still got this time to spend. So trust me with eyes so blind, and someday you will find,
Just take some time for me, just you and I
